As she did not want to be disturbed during her bathe she wanted that her house to be guarded by somebody outside. So she took a small portion of turmeric paste which she prepared for her bathe and gave life to that paste. The soldiers went in search and they first saw an elephant and they speared the elephants head and brought. Further Lord Shiva promised Goddess Parvathi that Lord Ganesh would be worshiped for before all other Gods. Lord Ganesha has four arms with having axe in one hand and a lotus flower in another hand. In the remaining two hands he holds modak in one and bless devotees with another hand. He is the first and foremost God who is worshiped in the beginning of all auspicious, religious ceremonies and important undertakings. Even during music and dance concerts the performance will be started with the prayer on Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi normally falls in the month of August or September. People bring idols made of fresh clay to their homes and worship. In public places huge idols of different types of Ganesha is consecrated in pandals or mantaps by local groups and associations. During that period cultural activities like music concerts, dance etc are arranged. On the Last day of festival the idol of Ganesha will be taken in procession and will be immersed in sea.
